Yoga is regarded as a science as well as a managerial technique. The yoga is the methodology whereas the yog is the process. The Asanas (Yogic Postures) and Pranayam (Breath Control) are known as Hath Yog. It prepares the body for higher stages of yogic practice, such as concentration and meditation to transcendental meditation. By the grace of my yog-guru Swami Adhyatmanand of Divine life Society, Sivanand Ashram, learned yoga in 1984 during foundational course of DRDO scientists.
Research for Yoga
Swami Sivanand suggests, firstly, purify the mind and the body through the practice of right conduct and yoga then do concentration. As long as lust, anger, greed, jealousy, illusion, etc. reside in the mind, concentration gets destroyed. It thus becomes important to purify the mind. If the object of meditation is material, it cannot purify. Beyond this material realm, there is the Divine realm of God- His names, Forms, Merits and Glory. Pranayam helps to concentrate easily.
Attention plays an important role in concentration. Forgetting is the highest Sadhana. A scientist concentrates and penetrates deeply into the mind to have deeper knowledge and to explore secrets. One can concentrate on the sound of a watch, beating of heart or on the flame of a candle or an object soothing to the mind. Concentration provides efficient and effective result in any walk of life. Meditation, Saguna Dhyan (concrete meditation) or Nirguna Dhyan (abstract meditation) is the two ways flow of thought, communication from Atma to Parmatma (God) and vice-versa. Sit in any comfortable posture of Asana.
Visualising
Gaze at the picture of a lord (or candle flame) steadily and then close the eyes and visualise the various parts of picture (or laid down and relax every part of your body visualising, stepwise from toe to head) and finally fix the mind on a part of your choice (or heart beating) silently or have japa of OM as self being the eternal supreme soul. All the negative thoughts and feelings must go away. Your mind is as clear as a mountain stream and thinking only of the Lord. A feeling of gratefulness starts to flow receiving the mercy of the Lord. The Indriyas remain quiet and mind finds rest in peace here. Swim freely in the ocean of Sat-Chit-Anand. Feel the thrill of Divine Embrace and enjoy Divine Ecstasy.
Jagat Guru Kripalu ji Maharaj had left the message that different people in different culture around the world use a variety of meditational techniques to improve their concentration. Some meditate on the breath, others on the centre of the eyebrows, other on psychic centres in the spinal cord, others on a still lake, and still others on a light, etc. These different meditations do improve the focus of the mind; however, their benefits are incomplete and impermanent without purity of Mind, positive thinking and goodness of God.
Benefit
Bhagwad Gita, Ved, Vedanta, Budha, Mahavir, Patanjali, all Yog-Guru, Osho, Brahm Kumari etc highlighted the importance, methodology and benefit of Dhyan, concentration and tradition of meditation. Patanjali states in his Sutra that the Pratyahar is to withdraw the senses from their concerned attachment and Dharna/concentration is to control the dimensionality of the soul where uniqueness is Dhyan/meditation which is for the God being only formless-darkness is Samadhi.
Dharna, Dhyan and Samadhi altogether is Sanjam (self control). The flow of thought intermittently in Godly-element is Dhyan). Furthermore, the perfection (attainment) is by virtue of birth and use/practice of herb, mantra, tapa and Samadhi. It is told that yogi should not sleep, not deviate, not get attached or derive interest from an object during the process of meditation. He/She should be stable like the flame of a candle in air at rest).
Preksha meditation
The Budha tradition emphasises a lot on inner silence and meditation for peace within oneself and in the world. Lord Rishabh to Mahavir and Acharya Tulsi to Mahapragya evolved Dharamdhayan to Preksha meditation. While, in Vigayan Bairav Tantra, witnessing is an essential part of all the 112 techniques of Osho. Brahm Kumarai suggests keeping the mind silent without pulls and attachment merging it with God and experience the fruit of atma-parmatma union where body follows the mind.
Unity of mind and wisdom has to be practiced. Mind is involved in experience, while wisdom wants to acquire new things. Due to lack of union between thought and mind one may forget to lock the door, miss the conversation or essentials during preparation to leave for the office. Solution lies in positive thinking feeling for good day during get-up and concentration.

God for healing
Concentration means that the wisdom/Budhi to see only the figure/thought coming over the screen of mind which takes towards meditation. Rajyog meditation means to control the mind and karmindriyas and to raise the level of soul in the right path. Merging of pure Atma with Parmatma (God) is yog, to convey to God and listen to Him. There is difference between prayer and meditation. One’s feeling and problems is not being conveyed to God for healing merely through stereotype prayer.
Distant healing can be possible, as one can transmit prana through space to a friend who is living at a distance. Swami Paramhansa Yogananda used to convey his audiences, ‘Pursue lives of service to God and of divine meditation through Kriya yoga. That is the way to inner peace and harmony. This way of life will give you everything you need.’ Having faith in power of meditation, Rajyogi Braham Kumar organized intense program of public meditation in Maharashtra following two consecutive years of draught in the districts of Nanded and Latur etc, to invoke the God of rain to be kind enough to quench the thirst of the region, and there has been good rain just a day or two after the mass meditation.
Self realization
If we perform our duties religiously and industriously, national productivity could be so high that there would be enough for everyone. If the manager and the managed work together with self–restraint and self actualization with conformity of interest to the interest of the Organisation, the productivity will increase enormously. These could be attained through the practice of yoga, yogic diet, meditation and self realization only.
